Our responsibility to support charities
We support numerous charities at both a local and a global level, especially focusing on child welfare. As part of our commitment we encourage our employees to take part in charitable events and donate to charities of their own choice.
Edenred offers the option of payroll giving, to help engage our employees with charitable activities. This allows them to select their own charity and donate money from their salary – which we then match. We have been awarded a Bronze Award 2010 for this scheme, which is a symbol of excellence funded by HM Government, this quality mark is awarded to employers that have succeeded in generating sustainable income source for UK charities through payroll giving.
We’re also committed to working with like-minded companies that take their role in the community seriously. In the UK, we make a contribution for every Eyecare Voucher we sell to the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB). In 2008 this amounted to more than £20,000: you can read more at our Eyecare Voucher website.
As part of Edenreds' 20th anniversary celebrations of its introduction of childcare vouchers to UK workplaces, they are delighted to announce a 12 month partnership with Action for Children. The partnership will see Edenred working with Action for Children to raise at least £30,000 over the next year, as well as increasing awareness of the work they do to support vulnerable children and young people.
Globally, we support Plan International, one of the largest international development agencies in the world, active in 49 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas.
In 2008, Edenred set up a global foundation to support and develop our employees’ solidarity-based initiatives. The mission of the foundation is: “Linking cultures and providing support for the development of individuals and their integration into the community” and it has three focuses:
- Initiatives that encourage local know-how, culture and heritage
- Support for underprivileged young people
- Involvement in humanitarian action and emergency programmes
